“ Opted for the beef brisket with rice noodles in soup and the curry fishball with noodles in soup. Both dishes were $9.99+ tax (with tips, it's about $13 -14 per person). Both dishes came with milk tea with enough caffeine to keep you wired. Overall, this was an affordable meal with reasonable portions. While this restaurant is known for its big portions, we got the dishes that were more reasonable in portion size. We got there around 12 pm. on a Sunday. Got seated quickly even though it was busy. Line ups do happen, especially between 12:15 - 1pm. But service is quick! The staff there know how to run a tight ship. Will definitely come back to try some of their bigger dishes. ”
“ I came this morning to grab breakfast. Matsuya Markham offers a variety of typical Cha Chen Teng breakfast options. Ranging from $6.99 CDN + tax to $11.99 CDN, from breakfast sandwiches or soup macaroni or fried eggs and ham, etc. If you want to order a bigger power breakfast, you can opt for $12.99 CDN + tax combo including eggs, ham, soup noodles and a beverage. If you want even more substantial powerful breakfast, you can order big portion of soup noodles and rice offerings. Today, I couldn't eat much and just want some munchie. I ordered a ham soup macaroni that comes with butter toast and a hot beverage (extra fee if you want cold beverage instead). All for $8.99 CDN + tax, which is a good price. Food came quickly. Toast was toasty and not too much butter which I prefer. My hot "yin-yang" was nice, smooth and hot, which is great. Lots of ham strings on my soup mac and broth was creamy. Not too salty, mac was incredible, it's smooth, chewy and not soggy but close to al dente. The mac texture was just perfectly made. I also like to mention that the staff were friendly and courteous, super attentive and polite. Will definitely be back for lunch or dinner in the near future. MoVernie TIP: It looks like they have daily lunch special as well, look for their handwritten offerings near the cashier counter or ask the staff for details (as it's not printed on the menu). ”

“ My wife and I were adventurous today. We went to Matsuya at the Garden Basket Plaza (Markham Rd & 16th Ave., Markham). We got the Bento Box Lunch Special served between 11am to 3pm. I had the Teriyaki Chicken and my wife got the Lemon Grass Pork Chops. It comes with a mug of soup, HK Tea or coffee or Soya bean milk, and regular Chinese tea. All for 15.99. It was very tasty... The portions were decent size. There were enough leftovers for our dinner. The only issue was they sat us at a table near the front entrance which was very cold when someone came in leaving the door ajar... We asked the waitress if we could move to another table, which they had plenty of available tables when some other guests had left. She rudely and bluntly said, it was too late because we already placed our food order. We've been to other restaurants where they would accommodate us with no problem when there are clearly other empty tables. ”
